Eldena

Eldena is this small beach near where I lived. Sometimes I felt like it’s a forgotten world – with a life pace of its own. People do live there, on holidays, in nice big houses.

There’s a river called Ryck which runs along the beach and eventually joins the ocean. I like to stroll along the riverside until I meet the sea, awaken by the sound of waves gently breaking my thoughts.

Eldena was and is still a sacred place in my heart. A safe corner in the middle of nowhere. A safe for my little thoughts, big thoughts, dreams, fears, hopes, blank mindspace. A coupon book I can always mentally turn to and rip out a happy card. At least I try to think that way.
